I'm baaaack! :)

Okay so I took a short, okay maybe longish, hiatus from the blogging world. We went to Seattle to visit my brother back in May and I just got off my blogging game! BUT I'm back people! And since it's been such a LOOONG time since I have posted I'm going to just post a picture update of what we have been up to this summer....I kept meaning to post and then I remember how many pictures I have and how far behind I had become...so this is just a snap shot! 

Our besties Aunt Nat and Barrett came for a visit...we got to go swimming at the Bloss' new beautiful Four Seasons loft pool!

Happy Moment Monday

Lots of happy moments this past week...

So when left to their own devices they gave each other make-up make overs....so cute...this like show at their weddings cute! :) 

We made smores on our grill this week and Jaimo and Terry camped in a tent in our back yard with the pups...yes I was too big of a wuss to actually sleep in the tent (hey! the ground is really really hard in our backyard!)...but I did watch the movie with them! :) 

I mean seriously...how can you not love these?! 

Recipe Rundown

Here are a few of the recipes I tried out from Pinterest! We had brunch over at my house on Sunday for Mother's Day and I made the banana split inspired baked oatmeal from Inspired Taste...O.M.G. it was like have dessert for breakfast! My kind of meal! :) I linked the blogs that the recipes originated from under each of the pictures! I make the peanut butter granola almost every week and just keep it in the cupboard for ice cream, yogurt, and fruit toppings....I omit all of the butter and sugar that is listed in the original recipe. The kale chips were delish and perfectly crispy! I adapted the pancakes on the bottom from blueberry pie to blackberry pie because I didn't have any blueberries and they were so yummy!!!! Yay for cooking...pretty sure my I'm not losing any weight on this diet, but it sure is fun! :)

Happy Moment Monday

 Jaimison was so proud of the necklace she made at school...it was so cute and made my heart melt! :)

 Happy Mother's Day to all you wonderful mommies out there! My fabulous family got tons and tons of flowers to plant in my front yard...Jaimison was so proud of herself for picking everything out, it was so cute and so thoughtful of my amazing family. Here is a picture of a few of the planters! :) We had such a great day, to be honest I was wondering how I would feel considering that Harper wouldn't be with us, but it was so nice to spend time with my family and my mom and dad and aunt came over for brunch, we relaxed and went to Little Man Ice Cream! It was absolutely perfect. I'm very lucky! 

 Last week was mini field day at preschool. Oh my goodness...it was so cute and turned out really great! We went through the rotation of stations with Grace and Sara and it was so adorable to watch the girls doing the games together! The weather was perfect too! What a fun way to spend the morning! :) 

I love Pinterest. Okay, I'm obsessed with Pinterest. I like it for a lot of reasons, but one reason I really really love it is for all the recipes and blogs about cooking that I've gotten introduced to through Pinterest. I've always really liked to cook and bake, but working full time with a toddler/preschooler made it next to impossible to be motivated to do anything when I finally rolled home from work. Well....since I decided to quit my job and be a full time stay at home mom....CFO of the Miller Household...Terry says Jaimison is the CEO...ha...I've fully embraced cooking once again. I love it. It calms me and de-stresses me....it's all together lovely. I thought it might be fun to actually keep track of the recipes that I have been making and put links to where I originally got the recipes. So here it goes! Here are a few recipes I made last week.

 She is finally starting to get brave on her balance bike compliments of Uncle Cory! She had a great time practicing!!!!!

 Jaimo and I went to the zoo twice last week....this is the view when I look up from Harper's bench...it's beautiful....

 Who doesn't love some post zoo ice cream, from LITTLE MAN ICE CREAM? I mean come on people! 

 Our second trip to the zoo was with Andrey and Lisa...always an entertaining fun time! :) This was after our picnic on Harper's bench...so cute! Watching the geese together! 

Sometimes....

I can't believe this is my life.
I'm sitting outside drinking my coffee with my caramel flavored creamer and listening to the birds and watching Jaimison jump on her little trampoline laughing and I'm smiling and then it hits me. My baby died. Harper is gone and she is never coming back. It takes my breath away. Like someone punched me in the stomach. It's like sometimes I let myself hope, just the tiniest twinge of hope, that Harper is really going to come back. Like this is all a test to see how we handle it and then we really will be able to take our precious, beautiful baby girl home with us.
This wasn't the plan. This wasn't how things were supposed to shake out. We were happy, hard working people. We follow the rules and the laws and did and do everything right. We always wanted a house and two dogs and two kids, the works, the all American dream. We were on our way and then boom. A bomb dropped right into our life and everything changed, everything exploded.
I'm so lucky to have my amazing husband and my beautiful Jaimo and my two dogs and my house. We make a decent living and we can pay our bills. Our families are supportive and healthy. We have amazing amazing friends that have loved us and supported us through this nightmare. I'm so lucky. I tell myself that everyday, but really, I just want my baby back. I just want Harper, here, in my arms with her big sister showering her with kisses. Instead we have talks about heaven and death and why Harper ("Cupcake") will never, ever be coming home.

Sometimes I can't believe this is my life.
Sometimes I'm just sad.
Sometimes you just have to hope, for a split second, that things will be better again someday.

Someday we will have our rainbow baby and Jaimison will be a great big sister and Harper will never be forgotten, she will always be a part of our family.
Someday we will have 3 babies instead of 2.
Someday....
